Consarn it! Them claim jumpers took our (Seattle's) naytural-born right to the name "silicon forest"; now what do we call ourselves - "silicon sound"? Dag blast it! And why are they wearing our hat? I never seen no cows in Oregon!
I don't know whether I want to head down there right now with my resume or get Olympia to send that army of black-helmeted stormtroopers from Tacoma to occupy our rightful posessions south of the Columbia, in the interest of the Greater Cascadia Co-Prosperity Sphere.
As a Puget Sounder of Arizonian extraction, my natural nemesis is of course SoCal. I like everyone I've met from California (except maybe that wanna-be cholo thug who got up in my face in middle school before I was culturally sensitized to his need to belong to a peer identity group), but collectively, in the abstract and as a matter of principle, LA is the center of the Evil Empire and everything down there sucks.
Now along comes the POSSE website not-so-subtly implying that some postmodern, skinheaded, spaghetti bowl of deviancy in can't-pump-your-own-gas, training-mercs-for-the-insurrection, Oregon [spits] is somehow simultaneously the Painted Desert, Silicon Valley and the Olympic National Forest. I am not amused!
Sorry Serpent Lord, but Portland is the R3@L D3@L. This has been the case for some time (at least 2003) when it comes to all things activist. Compare for example the
Seattle IMC to the Portland IMC.
